Let's Get Some REAL Letters in the Mail! Please write a letter and send it to one of the officials below. Dog has seen the petitions and posts of support that everyone has participtated in. While all this is great, the biggest impact we can make is a letter writing campaign. While Condaleezza Rice can delete SPAM emails all day long, she can't ignore 100,000 letters delivered by the US Postal Service. Please take the time to write a letter in your own words. Form letters that are pre-made where you just print it and sign it are worthless. Officials realize that a few people are behind it. But when thousands of citizens take the time to write a letter in their own words...WOW! Start today. Below are some key points that you might want to mention in your letter.
Here are some officials and their addresses to mail your letters to. Make sure you design the letter for the person you are sending it to. You wouldn't want to send a letter to Condaleezza Rice stating that you will never visit a Mexian resort again as that would be something geared towards the Mexican government and not the U. S. Secretary of State. Likewise, don't tell the Mexican government that you'll never vote Republican again...they might like that. Government Officials |

Mexican OfficialsThe Mexican woman was very nice and spoke good English. I asked for the mailing address, and she gave me the Houston address. She then simply tried to do her job and asked for my name and address, which I GLADLY gave her. Then she asked if I was planning on visiting Mexico, or if I'd like to. Here is what I said: Ma'am, I'd love to visit Mexico, and I have visited many times in the past. I particularly enjoy Cancun, as I've been there half a dozen times. And being a Texan, my wife and I often drive to Matamoros and enjoy a day of shopping and dining. But I won't be coming to Mexico anymore. With our State Departement's recent warnings of violence, and the recent arrest of an American bounty hunter, who made Mexico a little safer from violence by apprehending a rapist fugitive in Mexico, I no longer feel safe in Mexico. What would you do, ma'am, if your daughter were raped, and the rapist jumped bond and went on the run? What if you and your husband were walking down a street and saw him? Would you not jump him and apprehend him? I hope so, because if not, you are telling me there are no men in Mexico. Here in America we call that a citizen's arrest. If you see someone who is wanted for a felony, you can grab him against his will and take him to the authorities. If I don't have that right in Mexico, then I will never come back. While I doubt that I would ever be in that situation, we all know that there is violence in Mexico just as in any other country. American's are assaulted and become victims of crime in Mexico every day. If I were in Mexico with my family and my daughter was raped, we would have to extend our stay in Mexico long enough to file police reports and hope the rapist was found. If I found him myself, do you think I would look for the nearest phone and call the Mexican Police? Heck no, I would grab the guy right there, subdue him with a few punches to the face, and then find the Mexican police. If this is illegal, I will never come back to your country. So, to answer your question...NO, I have decided that unless Mexico drops these charges against our hero, the bounty hunter, then I will NEVER come back to Mexico! The poor lady. I spent 10 minutes and she listened the entire time. She apologized and said she understood. I thanked her and said goodbye. She has my name and address, so they know it is not a crank call. All can be verified. Maybe this is what thousands should do; flood their 800 number with complaints. Be nice andn polite, but act concerned and let them know that until justice is done, you will not go to Mexico. Call the Mexican Tourism Board at 800-446-3942! Tell them you won't be back to Mexico until all charges are dropped against Dog! Give them your name and address to legitimize the call. |

While you can write letters to appointed people like the Secretary of State and the Director of the Department
of Justice, the most effective people to write are the people that YOU put in power with your vote.
