Mahalo nui (thank you very much) for all of your letters of support, your prayers, your letters to the editor, your pleas to your congressmen, U.S. Marshalls, and even all the way to the President. Condaleeza Rice may be the key now, according to all reports – let’s hope she does the right thing!

Your actions are what will make the difference, we believe. You are THE PEOPLE and doing this of your own choosing – not because we asked you to – and that’s what makes it so beautiful – and also powerful.

Duane, Beth, Tim, Leland, and the whole Chapman ‘ohana send our heartfelt thanks and love to all of you who have really shown us what the true American and aloha spirit (no matter where you are from – and you are from everywhere!) are. We can never express in words enough how we feel, and how deep our appreciation is for all of you. Your letters have brought us smiles and tears. I am printing them all up for Duane and the family to keep – it will give them inspiration the rest of their lives, I’m sure – even after this is long over.

I am so sorry that I may not be able to get back to each and every one of you and the people you’ve reached out to, but I hope you know we love you all for your support in this time of need. Although we are shocked, exhausted, and upset about what has happened, you are the “silver lining” behind the cloud. And we shall overcome because of all of you!
